looking for a new motor
i am looking for a motor $60 or below. i am not sure what type i need. i have a D-boys BI-3881 SD M4. i am also dropping a 9.6v in it as well. for right now though i just need the motor. i don't mind if it is used. i want one for a high rpm rather than fps. i dont want to put too much stress on my gears. i also will be using a lower spring sometimes. i dont know if that matters or not.

The shop has four G&P 120 long shafts coming in. These are sale priced at 58.95 each. Reg. price is 69.95. J bird runs one in his Prime LR 300.

this will fit my m4 correct? and also will it increase my ROF?

Yes these will fit your M4. They are also only 49.95 I believe. Only ONE left in the shop.koscherness wrote:this will fit my m4 correct? and also will it increase my ROF?
And no it will not give you faster ROF. Higher voltage battery will give you faster ROF. High speed motors are made to handle Higher output Voltage. Let me go alittle deeper in detail. Your Stock motor has the windings for lets say to handle an 8.4 volt battery. the motor can run without heating up if you empty say a 300rd. clip. over and over again.
Now take that same motor and juice it with a 9.6 volt battery. You will find that if you perform the same test as above. Your grip is alittle warmer, It may even get hot.
This is due to the voltage being higher, it creates more friction (heat) in the windings of the armature. This over time can cause failure in the motor.
High speed motor are designed to handle this.
High Torque motor are design for high stress or (load bearing)
in closing if you use a G&P120 motor with a 9.6 volt battery. You will get a faster ROF without the motor damage. Then if you just use a 9.6 volt battery by itself.
All this is based on if your AEG came stock with an 8.4 volt battery

Re: looking for a new motor
so if you upgraded the spring and the battery you would definitely need a new motor, correct? also, you would really only need a motor if you went full auto a lot. thanks for the input. seya!

If you upgrade your spring. Then yes you will need a motor that can compress the spring. Some stock motors don't have the ability to compress a stronger spring all the time . It might work three or four times and then stop. It will act as if the battery is weak, or dead.
No you don't have to upgrade your motor if you go with a higher voltage. It's just that some stock motor will burn up quicker then if you stayed with the stock battery.
Remember Higher Voltage makes more heat.
