Inconsistency/Accuracy Issues Empty Inconsistency/Accuracy Issues

I find the largest problem with AEGs to be inconsistency (and therefore accuracy). I am looking to upgrade my echo/vector mp5a4 (400fps) and a&k sr25 (450 fps) with tightbores and new hop ups. On the mp5 I have a threaded silencer so I can put an extra long barrel in, and the sr25's qd silencer gives it room for one too. Is there anything else I could do to make my AEGs more accurate?

Any advice or opinions on this issue and how to solve it are appreciated!

To be honest, I think adding the tight bore with the extra inch or so to put it through the silencer. Changing the hop up would help too. So I believe you you had it all covered.

I would suggest a bore-up kit.

People use bore up kits to raise there FPS. With a larger cylinder you get a higher volume of air. The more air causes the pressure to build and eject the bb faster.

And since you are getting longer a barrel you will need that extra air to push the bb through the extra length of barrel

And you can run a lighter spring and get the same fps. Thus longer gearbox life.

For example I have one in my ICS M4
With a M120 I'm getting 440-450 fps rather than 380 fps without a bore-up kit (I did my test with hop-up on)

My though is that if you are getting a large ammount of inconsistancey check the following in the following order.
1. Is your barrel clean?
2. Are your BB's round, of high quality and newish?
3. Are you expecting pinpoint accuracy from a weapon that due to stock barrel length (even in real steel) limits its accuracy and range?
4. Are you correctly accounting for windage and leading your moving targets properly.
5. If the gun uses gas what is the ambiant temperature and will that effect the gas's expantion and contraction and therefore its force?

As per the things mentioned in the above posts... I agree with those completely.
Consistancy is certainly linked to barrel seal and length.
Not sure I agree with getting a bore-up kit, sure the concept is correct, its more air through the same size tube therefore givening you higher FPS, but wear is going to happen to all parts of an AEG, and though you can prolong certain parts life expectancy, you can not make them live forever. I would then say that its a matter of knowledge and money, if you have the money for the bore-up fine, if not (shrugs)

keep in mind you are shooting a round ball not a bullet your only going to achieve so much accuracy thats why we dont use musket balls nowadays
